The Spanish-Japanese company Univergy International has been awarded for the development of three photovoltaic energy projects in Vietnam totaling 300 MW, with the aim of connecting them to the electricity grid before the middle of the 2019 year.
Ignacio Blanco, Executive President of Univergy International, has indicated that "we have been doing in Vietnam for two years, in addition to developments of photovoltaic energy, engineering services and feasibility studies for clients and construction services such as geotechnical and topography".
White He added that "these three projects are the fruit of a great work of Univergy together with our Vietnamese partners, with whom we are also making quotations of epc as main builders for various projects of our customers."
Univergy International will participate in the Power & Electricity World Vietnam, The Solar Show Vietnam & The Wind Show Vietnam, which will take place on days 10-11 April 2018 in Ho Chi Minh City, which will be attended by more than 1.500 visitors from Vietnam, representing governments, investors and developers, large energy consumers, and other industry players seeking partners co-developers, EPCs, to provide solutions to their projects.
Vietnam, after the cancellation of the country's nuclear plan, seeks new sources of energy that reduce the energy deficit that is increasing every year. Therefore, after the wind farms in development, it has come the turn to photovoltaic solar energy. In this context, the Asian country aims, for the 2030 year, to reach 32% of the energy consumed from renewable sources and, consequently, reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 25%.
